Originally dating back approximately 170 yrs, Y Cwm, (translated as 'The Valley'), is a charming, award winning, south facing stone Pembrokeshire cottage which has been tastefully renovated and is bursting with style and character from its former life as 2 farm workers dwellings. It has been beautifully furnished and decorated to a very high standard and has attractive oak beams, Welsh oak floor boards and a lovely original stone Welsh inglenook (chimney fawr) in the kitchen. It is set within a ¼ of an acre of south facing grounds, complimented by a large cottage garden to the forefront. It comes complete with its own stream where kingfishers, owls, otters and all manner of wildlife can be enjoyed and spotted by nature lovers alike. All guests will approach the cottage over it's very own listed stone bridge. Y Cwm is awaiting grading by the Welsh Tourist Board.
Set in the heart of Pembrokeshire, in the small hamlet of Hayston, just 1 mile from Johnston, the cottage has easy access to many award winning beaches, together with the stunning historic Preseli Mountains and the world famous Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and Coastal Path. Neyland and Milford Marina’s offer fabulous facilities for boat lovers and are just a few miles away.
The area boasts many delightful cafes, restaurants and pubs together with the Torch Theatre for those who wish to enjoy a good night out!
The picturesque harbour and golden beaches of Little Haven and Broad Haven are always popular with children and are just a 15 minute drive away.
Y Cwm provides a perfect location for a family holiday or alternatively as a romantic break away from the hustle and bustle of busy city life. The County is rich in opportunity for a taste of outdoor pursuits, including coaststeering, horse riding, sailing, surfing, kayaking, climbing and much much more. Pembrokeshire is also famous for its excellent restaurants and pubs.
All guests who make bookings of 7 nights or more will receive a welcome pack.
We are so happy we found your place! This truly is a home away and even more ..... but also an excellent location and easy to drive around and explore Pembrokeshire. We visited Tenby, Solva, St Davids and Marloes peninsula, an excellent walk approx. 2 hours slow walking and perfect with children. Amazing sights and nature! We had a great time despite the weather .... we knew our warm and cozy cottage would be waiting for us after a long day out. Thanks for your warm welcome and delicious cake!!!

We travelled a long way to this special place and it certainly lived up to our expectations!! We found your cottage to be beautiful and welcoming - just like "home away from home". Our travels all the way from Aspen, Colorado, USA to Pembrokeshire were certainly well worth it! Wales is beautiful, rugged, rustic, welcoming, charming and lovely..... We truly hope to be back to this area sooner than later!

Gorgeous, gorgeous cottage! Enjoyed our short break and loved the bunks and novelty towel for my little girl ... Attention to detail and cleanliness superb! Relished the delicious sponge, consumed in 1 day flat! Thanks Louise for such a warm welcome, we love your beautiful cottage and look forward to a longer break next year ....
